Jerold’s journey into broadcasting wasn’t a straight path. From his early days immersed in the vibrant culture of his community, every step has shaped the empathetic and insightful host he is today. The path began with his upbringing in Miami by two educator parents who instilled in him a profound respect for knowledge and community service.  Jerold earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tuskegee University, where he also played football.

Professionally, Jerold serves as a Senior Director of the Building Services Group at ECF Engineering Consultants. Beyond engineering, Jerold’s heart lies in community engagement. He has been a vital presence in various boards including the Urban League of Palm Beach County, the Northwest Community Consortium, and the Sickle Cell Foundation. His leadership roles have also extended to being the past President of the Urban League Young Professionals and Black Village Voices, where he championed economic empowerment and educational initiatives.

Jerold’s radio show, “Flame Talk: The Peoples Edition,” mirrors his life’s work: it’s a platform dedicated to enlightening its audience on crucial societal issues while amplifying the voices of the community. Each broadcast is a blend of introspection, community insights, and practical advice, aimed at fostering understanding and action among its listeners.

His numerous awards, including being named Palm Beach County’s Most Influential Community Leader Under 40 by Legacy Magazine in 2012, are a testament to his profound impact. As a mentor, Jerold continues to inspire the next generation through programs like Take Stock in Children, and his work with the Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
